The DataGauss LG Max uses pulse technology and is designed for hard drives and backup tapes. It securely erases hard drives that use perpendicular and longitudinal recording techniques, including 5000 Oersted hard drives, as well as all common backup tapes.
The unit ships with Data Destruction Auditor software from Verity Systems, giving users access to reporting tools for degaussed media.
